Mavonne Carol Curtis

Mavonne “Muffy” Carol Curtis (Johnson) of Sudbury, MA passed away on October 11, 2025 at the age of 90. She was born in Minneapolis, MN on August 11, 1935 to Wesley Halling and Elizabeth Johnson (Allan).

She attended school at University of Minnesota where she received her Bachelors in Interior Design. She met her husband Robert Curtis through the Minnesota Methodist Church college group.

Muffy was passionate about gardening and was an active member of the Sudbury Garden Club. She had an extensive wildflower garden at her house. She also cared deeply about the environment and was active in the Sudbury Conservation Committee and the Hop Brook Committee. She loved dogs and had many of them through the years. Muffy was also an active social worker for many years for the state of MA.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Robert Gordon Curtis.

Muffy is survived by her loving daughter, Linda Curtis and son-in-law Keith Veren of Sudbury; her sons, Paul Michael Curtis of Sudbury and Stephen Lawrence Curtis; her grandchildren, Kristen Marguerite Veren, Justin Wesley Veren, Robert Curtis and John Curtis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Muffy’s memory to the Memorial Congregational church of Sudbury.
