
Midge Pellegatti Zola, a resident of Marlboro since 1985, formerly of Sudbury, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Oak Knoll nursing facility in Framingham following a period of declining health. She was 77 and the wife of Leon I. Zola. Midge was raised in Medford and Ipswich, Massachusetts where she grew to love the North Shore so much that the standard vacation revolved around Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester for 30 years running. Midge attended The Mass College of Art and earned a degree from Endicott College after which she entered the field of graphic arts. She was a driving enthusiast and loved and owned only convertibles. She married Leon in 1959 and they settled and raised their family in Sudbury through 1985, after which they moved to Marlboro. She transitioned professionally to a career in real estate where she was a successful broker for many years. Midge had a deep love for animals and kept a house full of pets including dogs and cats. In addition to her husband, Leon, she leaves her son and his wife, William F. and Jennifer Zola of Newton; her son, Peter E. Zola of San Francisco; her daughter Joanne Zola and her wife, Samantha Kahn, of Brooklyn, NY. She also leaves her grandchildren, Caroline and Abigail Zola and Scarlett Rae Zola-Kahn. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Midge’s name to the ASPCA. Visitation will be Friday, June 8, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Duckett-J.S.Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road, Rt. 20, Sudbury. A prayer services will take place at 1:00 o’clock following visiting hours.
