Patricia Lee Platt

Patricia “Pat” Lee Platt, 82, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2026 with her loving family by her side. Born on October 8, 1943, in Akron, Ohio, Pat lived a life marked by deep faith, fierce love for her family, and a quiet strength that impacted everyone who knew her. She was a committed member of Deer Park Baptist Church in Louisville, KY as she was at each church congregation in which she was a member.

Pat is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, David Platt, who faithfully walked beside her through every season of life. Together they built a family rooted in love, prayer, and laughter. She is also survived by her children: Chris (Phyllis) Platt of Shelbyville, KY; Laura (Neil) McGilvray of Stow, MA; Jen (Bryan) Fister of Louisville, KY; and Greg Platt of Milton, MA.

Her legacy continues through her grandchildren — Alyssa (Nick) Costello, Rachel (Michael) Griffin, Michael McGilvray, Megan Fister, Mark Fister, Matthew McGilvray, Tyler Platt, Molly Fister, and Jocelyn Platt — and her great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Lanning, Gunner Gelnett, Rowan Gelnett, Reese Griffin, Miles Griffin, and Callie Rae Costello.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Irene Eckert, and her siblings, Vicki Brown, Mike Eckert, and Steve Eckert.

Pat and David met in Connecticut in 1957 and they married in 1963. Life took them to Miami, FL, Louisville, KY, Edison, NJ, Houston, TX, Sudbury, MA and back to Louisville. While living in Sudbury, Pat graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Arts and went on to get her Masters degree. She worked for years in the medical arena in different roles.

Pat loved Cape Cod, was an avid reader, especially of the Bible, and had a rich prayer life. She loved her family and delighted in every gathering, every story, and every new little one added to the family tree. Her family deeply admired her gifts of listening, storytelling and timely wisdom.

Pat’s life was a testament to faith, devotion, and love. Her presence will be deeply missed, and her influence will continue in the lives of her family along with all who were blessed to know her.

Family and friends will remember and celebrate Pat’s life by gathering for a time of visitation on Monday, September 21st at Duckett-Waterman Funeral Home, 656 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, MA 01776, 4:00pm to 7:00pm.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 329 Concord Road, Sudbury, MA 01776 at 11:00am.

A memorial service to celebrate Pat’s life will be held on Saturday, September 26th at Deer Park Baptist Church, 1733 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY 40205 at 12:00 pm with visitation at the church from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Deer Park Baptist Church Memorial Fund in Louisville, Kentucky.
