Born on October 27, 1926 in St Louis, MO, he was the son of Paul and Hazel McCree. Paul was raised and educated in Cambridge, MA, and graduated from Harvard University in 1948. Paul met and married his wife, Carolyn in Louisville, KY while working there for Dupont. After teaching himself computer programming, short stints in Los Angeles, CA, Bedford, MA, and Silver Spring, MD, he settled with his young family in Sudbury in 1963 when after he took a job as a Systems Engineer at Raytheon writing computer programs to support the Apollo space launch projects. He held various positions throughout his career as a Systems and Business Engineer in the communication and aerospace industry including starting his own consulting business.
Paul’s hobbies and interests include music, literature, tennis, and nature, perhaps most importantly, family. He had an impressive collection of classical LPs and there was always something on in the house. Many books of literature, poetry, science filled the shelves in every room throughout the house. He had several regular tennis partners with whom he played recreationally, and always trying to improve his game. He took walks in the woods in lieu of going to church on Sunday. He loved the family gatherings particularly the extended family Thanksgiving.
Paul was beloved husband to Carolyn McCree (deceased, 2019) since 1955; devoted father of Brian McCree and his wife Susan of Hawaii, Paula McCree and her husband Ben Kerman of Hingham, Ross McCree of Sudbury; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and many long-time friends.
