

She attended school at Andover High School and Lowell Commercial College (now Manning School of Business at the University of Massachusetts Lowell). During her time at Andover High School, she was the Worthy Advisor leading the local chapter of Rainbow Girls. She worked for many years for Digital Equipment Corporation and Hewlett Packard in the Power Systems department.
Phyllis was passionate about her friends and family. She travelled extensively to places such as Italy, Great Britain, Germany and Hong Kong among others. She and John owned a Grand Banks 42 yacht that they enjoyed with family and friends on trips on Narragansett Bay, Block Island, Mathas Vinyard and many other destinations. Phyllis also enjoyed sewing, quilting and baking. Her chocolate chip cookies and apple pies were always a favorite at any family gathering.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Chandler and sisters Shirley and Marilyn.
Phyllis is survived by her beloved husband, John P. Toomey III, her cherished son Michael Toomey and his wife Jennifer and granddaughter Kailey; her brother, Chandler Bailey; her nieces and nephews Barbara, John, Susan, Sharon, Sheila, Phillip, Michael, Matthew, Sean and Colleen.
A visitation for Phyllis will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Duckett - J.S. Waterman & Sons Home of Memorial Tribute, 656 Boston Post Road, Sudbury, MA. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Sudbury United Methodist Church, 251 Old Sudbury Rd., Sudbury, MA. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Sudbury.
