
Robert Joseph Pelletier, Sr. 81, passed away at his home in Spencer, MA. on December 18,2014 after a brief illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 12 years, Louise (Nadeau Jerome) Pelletier; two daughters, Robin, wife of Robert Milburn, Jr., of Winter Park, FL. and Rhonda, wife of David Sims, of Columbiana, AL.; two sons, Robert J. Pelletier, Jr. and wife Wanda, of Graysville, AL. and Cyrus Pelletier and wife Mandy, of Cibolo, TX; a sister, Marion Newton of Mineral Springs, Arkansas; his step children Richard Jerome, Jr. and wife Jaime (Martin) of Dudley, MA: Jason Jerome and wife Lana (Benoit) of Spencer, MA, and Jennifer (Jerome) wife of Travis Reilly, of Spencer, MA., 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was born on 8/2/1933 in Niantic, CT. He attended school in Stoninghton, CT. and graduated from Stonington High School.
He entered the Navy as a Submariner at the age of 19 and was stationed at the Navy Sub Base in New London, Groton, CT. He served as a chef/cook on submarines for 20 years. He served on diesel and nuclear subs. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He received the Good Conduct Award (fifth) for service ending Nov. 15, 1970/SSBN Deterrent Patrol Insignia/National Defense Service Medal (second award). After retiring from the Navy, he settled in Orlando, FL. where he worked in the bakery at Disney World then in Document Control, for a total of 21 years. After retiring from Disney World he worked for different car rental companies in Orlando.
He is predeceased by his parents, Edward & Jessie Richards; his first wife, Florence B. (Cady) and his second wife Georgianna (Hensell); his sister, Dorothy A. (Richards) Simoncini and two brother-in-laws, Anthony Simoncini, husband of his sister Dorothy and Alton R. Newton, husband of his sister Marion, and his nephew James E. Newton, son of Marion and Alton Newton; his grandson, Joshua, son of Robin and Robert Milburn, Jr. He also is predeceased by his firstborn son at birth.
A Christian Burial Mass will be held at St. Patrick Church in Mystic, CT. on January 3,2015, at 10;00 AM. A Graveside funeral services will be held in Glen Haven, Memorial Park, Winter Park, FL., at the convenience of the family.
