Stephen H. Munroe

SUDBURY – Stephen H. Munroe, 69, of Sudbury, formerly of Andover for 33 years, passed away Friday, April 28, 2017 with his family by his side at Massachusetts General Hospital following a sudden illness.

Born July 25, 1947 in Newton, he was the son of the late Guy M. and Anne C. (Cummings) Munroe. Steve was raised in Wellesley. He was a graduate of Wellesley High School, New Preparatory School, and Merrimack College. He was President and CEO of Davis Sales Associates, Inc., for 45 years.

Beloved husband of Barbara J. (Salafia) Munroe for over 43 years; devoted father of Scott W. Munroe and his wife Stacy of Sudbury, Jennifer M. Stone and her husband Adam of Sudbury, Megan E. Munroe and Alison L. Munroe, both of Beacon Hill; proud grandfather of Grace and Scott Munroe, Jr., Abigail, Molly, and Jacob Stone, and a Labradoodle named Penny; loving brother of Guy W. Munroe of Wellesley and loving nephew of Polly M. Furbush of Needham. Steve is also survived by extended family.

Steve was a family man. Much of his free time was spent attending sporting events of his children and grandchildren. Without question, he was their #1 fan. Steve loved grilling on the deck year-round. He also worked tirelessly to make sure his yard and even his children’s yards were well-kept. Steve enjoyed the summer months at Danversport Yacht Club where he moored his boat. He loved listening to the Beach Boys while fishing and cruising the high seas. During the winter, Steve vacationed on Longboat Key, FL, where he and Barbara enjoyed the wonderful company of many friends for more than 30 years.

All are kindly invited to a Celebration of Life service held on Thursday, May 4th at 11am, Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 329 Concord Road, Sudbury.
