Tasia was an Eastern Star, and for many she was our North. On a beautiful summer day, her George wrote “She was 17 and I was 20 when we first met and she just captured my heart. She was a freshman at Pitt and I was a soldier in the Army Specialized Training Program at Pitt. We had our first date in the fall of 1943 and on that day I proposed to her and guess what? She said yes! We agreed to wait until wars end, for I did not want to leave a widow behind. Upon my return in 1945 we waited until Tasia graduated in 1946 and we were married. She is a terrific mother, wife, friend and companion. What else could a man want?”
