William Coit Osgood, Jr., a resident of Framingham for 47 years, died Friday. August 29, 2014 following a long illness. He was 82 and the beloved husband for 55 years of Jean (Warwick) Osgood. He is also survived by his son, William C. Osgood, III and his wife, Cheryl, of Akron, Ohio and his son, Eric. W. Osgood and his wife, Cynthia, of Needham, MA and was the grandfather of Liana. Also surviving is his sister and brother in law, Nancy and David Hawkins of Westwood, MA. Born in Boston December 27, 1931, he was the son of the late William Coit Osgood, Sr. and Charlotte Buechner Osgood He was a graduate of Phillips Academy in Andover and a 1953 graduate of Princeton University. Following his graduation from Princeton Mr. Osgood served in the United States Army at the time of the Korean War. Later, in 1958, he received his MBA Degree from Babson College. He was employed by Raytheon for 38 years and retired in 1993. Family services will be private. Memorial donations should be directed to Project Bread, 145 Border St., Boston, MA 02128.
