Adolph J. Alfieri passed away on September 17, 2012 from complications of pneumonia at the NY State Veterans Home at Montrose, NY. He was born to Prometeo and Mary (Carvicci) Alfieri in New York City on February 3, 1923. Al served and was honorably discharged from the USMC in the 1st Marine Division in the South Pacific in WWII. He served as Commander of the VFW Post 3050 in Spring Valley, and American Legion Post 1447. He was a member of the Carpenters Union 964 and was an instructor in their apprenticeship program.
Al is survived by his wife; Barbara (Butterick), sons; Peter Alfieri of Warwick, NY, Michael Alfieri of Suffern, NY and daughter; Kathy and her husband John Masilotti of Suffern, NY, brother; Robert Alfieri of the Bronx, NY, sister; Joan DeVito of Putnam Valley, NY, grandchildren; Kristin and Lauren Alfieri, Joseph and Gina Masilotti, Jessica Alfieri, many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901 on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9pm with a brief visitation at the funeral home on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 9 - 10am with the interment to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, Hatsdale, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the NY State Veterans Home at Montrose, 2090 Albany Post Road, Montrose, NY 10548.
