Angel was born in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico in May of 1946 to Natalio & Polonia. After the family moved to New York and took roots in the Bronx, Angel became a musician playing the timbales, guitar & piano. An avid lover of all genres, he loved listening and talking about any kind of music and musicians. Playing and singing with family was an integral part of many get-togethers. In 1971 he married the love of his life Jo-Anne, at the time a student at Fordham University who later forged a successful business career in the Garment District. On November 16, 1972 and November 21, 1977, respectively, he welcomed his two sons Christopher & Matthew who he loved and cared for deeply. He would go on to manage NYC restaurants The Royalton and Truffles and co-owned the Olde Towne Deli in Suffern, New York before retiring to Florida.
Angel loved gardening and took great pride in seeing his flowers bloom and vegetables grow. He meticulously tended to his lawn and took great satisfaction in its appearance. Angel also enjoyed the sport of boxing. Watching the fights with his sons was one of his favorite things to do. Cooking for the family, especially Puerto Rican cuisine, was another joy of his.
