

Angelica Calfa of Suffern, NY passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 89 years of age. Angelica was born to George and Teresa (Lizzi) Siliato on April 27, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY. She was a member of the Ladies Guild at Sacred Heart Church for almost 40 years. She was in charge of making the Baptismal robes and with the help of the other ladies made them for hundreds of infants for over 30 years.
She loved to crochet blankets and scarves and write songs and poems. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She had a passion for painting and was an avid reader. She was also an amazing cook and her grandchildren loved her meatballs and macaroni. Angelica was quick-witted and had a wonderful sense of humor right up until the end.
Angelica is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years Frank S. Calfa Sr., her cherished children Salvatore L. Calfa (Juanita), George Calfa, Frank S. Calfa Jr. (Susan) and Maria Teresa DePaul (Vincent), adored grandchildren Shawn, Brian, Christie, Frank III, Joseph, Stephen, Matthew, nine great-grandchildren, and caring sister Catherine DePaola. She is predeceased by her granddaughter Heather Stone and brothers Pasquale, Giacomo and Vincent Siliato.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday, February 16, 2015 at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM, Tuesday, February 17, 2015 St. Joan of Arc Church, 32 Eagle Valley Road, Sloatsburg, NY with interment to follow at FW Loescher Veteran’s Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY.
Donations in Angelica’s name can be made to the Joe Raso Hospice Residence, 415 Buena Vista Road, New City, NY.
