Anthony was born February 18, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY, to Anthony and Anna D’Anna. The youngest of seven children, he was the light of his sibling’s eyes. After graduating from high school, he served honorably in the Navy for 2 years, then moved to the Bronx where he met and married Nancy D’Anna, a fellow bank teller at the Chemical Bank. Together, he and Nancy and several of their friends from the Bronx moved to E. Stemmer Lane in Suffern, NY where they all raised their children. While living in that house, he started his own hair salon and cut hair there for more than 50 years.
Anthony was a devoted husband and father. He became a hairdresser and loved to golf and act and sing in community theaters. At the age of 80, after his wife Nancy passed away, he began singing professionally in the Rockland county area. An avid Sinatra fan and remarkable singer of Sinatra songs, he performed whenever and wherever he got the chance, singing in retirement homes, supermarkets and libraries. Once the pandemic started, he shared his love of Sinatra music on Facebook, making fans all over the country.
A funeral mass is scheduled for January 15 at 11:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern, NY. He will be laid to rest at the Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
