Antoine J. Almonor

Antoine J. Almonor, 90, of Spring Valley, NY passed away on September 8, 2012 at his residence after a wonderful and blessed life. He was born to the late Octavien Almonor and Amédée Jasmin Almonor on June 13, 1922 at Grande Riviere du Nord, Haiti. He was the only surviving and 2nd to youngest of his siblings, Augustine Philomene Almonor, Occilius Almonor, Arsene Almonor, Buisson Almonor, Francoeur Almonor, Octavina Almonor and Anne Marie Almonor. He emigrated from Haiti to the United States in 1972 after a long career in the Haitian military. He worked for Letchorth Village in Rockland County, NY for many years until he retired.

He is survived by his loving spouse Philomene Menelas Almonor, as well as his children, grandchildren, many nieces and nephews including Jean Benoit Almonor, Myriam Almonor, Anne Sherley Demosthenes Almonor, Bernadette Almonor, Mixou Almonor, Falter Almonor, Mireille Almonor, Magguy Almonor, Louise Marthe Almonor, Samara E. Almonor, Marcus A. Almonor, Ansley A. Almonor, Jaydan B. Almonor. The viewing will be held on Friday, September 21, 2012 from 5-9 PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901. Funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 10:00 AM followed by the interment at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet, NY. Feel free to express your heartfelt condolences to the affected families: Belizaire, Jasmin, Pierre Jerome, Demosthenes, Toussaint, Jean, Camille, Volcy, Mehu, Destrades, Menelas and all other family members.

An humble individual..a family man..a Godly man.. therefore Pere Almonor as we call him.. is oke.. resting in the hands of his savior....We should continue his legacy ..till we meet him & our departed loved ones again....may the peace of the Lord who only can surpass all understanding comfort his faithful spouse.. his children whom he was was so proud of.. grand children and all affected by his moving up to heaven ....always in our hearts..but now in peace Pere ALMONOR!!!!
