Mr. Arthur Goldsmith

Arthur Goldsmith of Monsey, NY passed away May 6, 2010 at age 87. Artie was born October 12, 1922 in the Bronx to Joseph and Katie (Leone) Goldsmith. He served honorably in the US Coast Guard and later owned a carpet installation business. He was a member of the Mounted Patrol with the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department, and was a Golf Ranger at Spook Rock Golf Course. Artie is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Rose (Zambelli) Goldsmith, his loving children Arthur Goldsmith, Jr. (wife Suzanne), Jayne VonWurmb, Chief Warrant Officer 5-Joseph Goldsmith, US Army (wife Vicky) and Cheryl Kuhn (husband Marty), his cherished grandchildren Jennifer, Gregory, Joseph, Christopher, Brittany, Nicole, Joseph, Jr. and Paige, and his devoted brother Colonel Irv Gerrow USAF Ret. (wife Barbara) and sister Marilyn McCulloch. Visitation will be Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home in Suffern. A Memorial service will be held Tuesday, 11am at the funeral home; Committal private. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corp. or United Hospice of Rockland.
