Sauer, August John of Tuxedo Park, NY. Died January 6, 2012 at age 71. Born May 22, 1940 in Bronx, NY to August and Marie (Leuck) Sauer. August and Marie owned the Rolling Pin Bakery in Suffern. August graduated from Don Bosco High School and received his Bachelors from Delaware Valley College. He served honorably with the US Army during the Vietnam era. August was a Past Commander of the Fromm Maxwell DeBaun Post 859 in Suffern, Past County Commander of the Rockland American Legion, a member of the Elks and the Von Struble Association. He is survived by his beloved wife Ines (DeBlasio), children Karlo, Maria and August Jr. “A.J” (wife Adrienne), grandchildren Madilyn, Hendrik and sister Helena Sauer. Visitation Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home in Suffern. Funeral Mass Wednesday 10am at St. Joan of Arc Church. Committal Private. Donations in Augusts’ name can be made to St. Joan of Arc Church.
