Barbara Brown of Butler, New Jersey passed away on October 2, 2013.

Born Barbara Veech on November 20, 1946 in Brooklyn, NY, she graduated from James Madison High School in 1964. She dedicated the last twenty years of her life to helping people and was employed by Bergen Regional Medical Center for the last nine years until her retirement in 2013. Barbara was married to Dennis Brown on March 3, 2013.

Barbara is survived by her husband Dennis Brown of Butler, N.J. and two daughters Torva Durkin of Chester, N.Y. and Erika Dutton of New York City. She will be greatly missed by her three grandchildren, one brother Bobby Veech, and two sisters, Mary Mazzarella and Carol Rizzo.

Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 09, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern N.Y. A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 10am at St. Pauls Church, 200 Wyckoff Avenue, Ramsey, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

I met Barbara through a metastatic breast cancer support group and I will miss her dearly. She was a funny, genuine and loving person with a terrific outlook on life.
