Carida Miguel, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away Tuesday the 14th of December surrounded by her family. Born on May 7, 1945 in Port au Prince Haiti to Yvonne Benz and raised with the help of her grandmother Sylvia Joseph.
In December of 1969, Carida immigrated to the United States with her nephew Joseph and niece Maryse searching for a better life for her and her one daughter at the time. In New York, she worked in the health care field. She was an extremely hard worker and had so much pride in caring for others.
She spent her free time caring for her grandchildren, traveling, going to the casinos, socializing with friends, people watching at the mall, attending church, and watching TV. She loved Keeping Up with the Kardashians and Flavor of Love. Her favorite things were spending time with her family, dancing, and cooking for EVERYONE. She gave advice when unasked and her zingers were priceless. She kept us laughing.
She is survived by her children: Altagrace, Cathy, Michelle, and Geraldo. Her grandchildren: Pierre-Andre, Ashley, Reginald, Kile Jr, Siani, and Eliana. Her great grandchildren: Amilyah, Aidyn, and Avarie. Her sister Gladys Aurelien and a multitude of nieces and nephews also survived by her. Predeceased by her beloved sisters Clara Ardouin and Violette Manon.
Carida's visiting hours will be Monday December 20th from 10:30 am - 11:30 am at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home in Suffern, followed immediately by Catholic Mass at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern.
