Born and raised in New York City, Carl lived a long, full life, defined by service, love, and integrity. As a young man, he served his country with honor in the Korean Conflict, an experience that shaped his sense of duty and resilience.
In 1955, Carl married the love of his life, Aileen, and together they built a family rooted in devotion and care. He is survived by daughters, Gale (Sam) and Denise (Douglas); a proud grandfather whose face lit up in the company of his grandchildren, Peter (Leslie), Melanie, Shawn, Jennifer (Wesley), and Michael (Taylor); 5 great grandchildren; and a sister, Marianna. Carl found great love and companionship later in life with Lynn, whose presence brought him comfort and joy. He was predeceased by his beloved partner Mary, whom he always held close in heart.
Carl was a man of simple pleasures with a great sense of humor, and a love for cooking. A devoted football, Red Sox and Knicks fan, he rarely missed a game. On the golf course, he found peace, camaraderie, and the challenge he so enjoyed. He did get that “Hole In One!” Later in life he volunteered in the community soup kitchen and found great friends at his weekly senior meetings where he would host the best Bingo games.
Above all, Carl will be remembered as a good and decent gentleman, someone that knew right from wrong, worked hard, and enjoyed life on his terms. His kindness, steady wisdom, and love for family will remain a guiding light for all that knew him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. His light will live on in our hearts forever.
