Carmelo Vincent Trischitta

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Carmelo Vincent Trischitta, who passed peacefully surrounded by his children and grandchildren on Sunday, July 5th, 2026, at the age of 89, at

Valley Hospital.

Carmelo is lovingly survived by children Heidi Haase and her husband, John, of Tuxedo, New York; Holly Prall and her husband, Greg, of Sloatsburg, New York; Marianna Manning and her

husband, Richard, of Wilmington, North Carolina; Monica Morse and her husband, Christopher, of Sloatsburg, New York; Eric Trischitta and his wife, Kathleen, of Glen Rock, New Jersey; Kurt Trischitta and his wife, Tracy, of Highland Mills, New York, and, a proud grandfather of nine grandchildren: Christopher, Ariel, Ethan (Charlotte), John Michael (Amanda), Angelica (Mark), Lily (Kyle), Eric, Julia, and Timothy; and four great grandchildren: Annabeth, Michael, Carmelo, and John Michael. He also leaves behind his two brothers: Joseph Trischitta and Brian Trischitta and wife, Madeline.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years Marlene (Boland) Trischitta; his parents, Hazel and Rosario Trischitta; his brothers, Santo Trischitta and William Trischitta.

Carmelo dedicated most of his adult life to Suffern Central School District for 38 years. Carmelo was a lifelong resident of the Village of Sloatsburg, born on April 16, 1937. Carmelo had a life filled with compassion, resilience, and generosity. He was more than a father, he was the heart of our family and a source of love, strength, and kindness to everyone fortunate enough to know him. He had a remarkable way of making people feel welcome, heard, and valued, leaving a lasting impression on every life he touched.

Above all, Carmelo cherished family. He loved deeply and unconditionally, always putting others before himself. Whether spending time with loved ones, simply gathering at the kitchen table sharing stories and laughter, preparing his famous sauce and meatballs for family dinners, family vacations and cruises, and his love for animals, he found joy in life's everyday moments. The memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave will remain in our hearts forever.

A lifelong and devoted fan of the New York Yankees, Carmelo cherished baseball throughout his life. Among his favorite memories were meeting Babe Ruth and attending the historic 1956 World Series, where he witnessed Don Larsen the only perfect pitch game in World Series history, an experience he proudly recounted for years.
