Carol S Streichert

Carol Stephanie Streichert, a longtime resident of Spring Valley, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2026, at age 88. Born December 31, 1937, in Nyack, NY to the late Stephen and Mildred Dec, Carol was a labor and delivery nurse at Nyack Hospital for 41 years before retiring in1999. Locally, Carol was a member of the Hillcrest Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Post 1600 Ladies Auxiliary. She married the love of her life Emil (Paul) Streichert on August 24, 1957, at Grace Episcopal Church in Nyack. She was predeceased by her husband, who died in 2016, and infant daughter Kathleen. She is survived by seven children, Laura Streichert (Chris Roberts), Kristina Rubin (Michael), Karen Gibson (Grover), Jeffrey Streichert (Loretta), Richard Streichert, Paul Streichert (Meg), and David Streichert (Vickie); her grandchildren, Nicholas (Beryl), Daniel, Emily (Sean), Sarah (Anthony), Jessica (Jonathan), William (Jodie), Jillian, Kristen (Evan), Zachary, Kaila, Kira, Maggie, Jack, Aidan, and Tyler; 8 great-grandchildren; and former son-in-law Norman Cousins.

Friends may call on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 10:30 AM at Grace Episcopal Church, 130 1st Ave, Nyack, NY, followed by interment at the Frederick Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 220 Brick Church Rd., Spring Valley, NY.
