Douglas Calvin Renud

Douglas C. Renud passed on October 15, 2014. He was born November 14, 1924 to his Swedish parents Hilma and Karl Renud in Brooklyn (Bay Ridge), New York. He graduated from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering. Douglas was married to the love of his life, Hannelore, in 1957 at the Dom of Bremen, Germany. He was proud of his 8 months and 10 day Honeymoon to Scandinavia, Italy, South America, the Middle and Far East. Douglas was passionate about genealogy and history. He was an avid reader and listener of classical music. He was one of the founders of the Montebello Senior's Club and belonged to the Genealogical Society of Rockland and the Order of Vasa, Stenland Lodge.He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Wallace. Douglas is survived by his wife of 57 years, Hannelore; by his son, Sven Erik (Louise) Renud; his daughter Heidi Ellen Renud and also by his adored grandchildren Francesca and Nicholas Furey and Natasha Renud. A wake will be held at Wanamaker and Carlough Funeral Home 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901 on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Service of Christian Burial will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 1 Church Street, Airmont, NY on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 11:30am. Cremation will be private.
