

He was born to the late Eustacio & Rosario Leon, Feb 1, 1928 in Manhattan, NYC and graduated from Harren HS in 1946. He proudly served in and was honorably discharged from The United States Coast Guard after which he attended NYU to enhance his career as a civil engineer, eventually starting his own successful construction companies in the very competitive NY/NJ market.
He married the late Evelyn (Calderon) Leon in 1947 and they resided in New York City before relocating to Airmont, NY in 1964, an area that held fond memories for him during his boy scout camping years.
He was a proud member of the Tagaste Monastery Chapter of the SAR. The Tagaste Monastery Community, SAR Fraternity and Guild provided him much comfort and support after the loss of his wife and during his own illness. Also, Edward’s love of gardening, fishing and cooking provided him much joy and will always be remembered by his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Evelyn (Calderon) Leon, brothers George & Louis Leon and sister Sara (Cookie) Leon
He is survived by his children, Bettina Lee of Lewes, DE and Nancy Adler of Irvington, NY, sister Evelyn Buchanan, brother, William Leon, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 11am at the Ascension Chapel at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Road, Airmont, NY 10952.
