

Eileen Rita Edwards, a lifelong resident of Suffern, New York, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and unforgettable spirit. Born on February 11, 1950, in Suffern, she was the cherished daughter of the late Thomas and Christina (née Flanagan) Gormley.
Eileen was a proud graduate of Suffern High School and dedicated many years of service throughout her working life. She was employed at the Sloatsburg Rest Area before retiring as a Cash Room Attendant for HMSHost. Known for her strong work ethic and vibrant personality, she made lasting impressions on all who knew her.
Affectionately described as a “spitfire,” Eileen lived life with honesty and without a filter, bringing laughter and authenticity wherever she went. She had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed long walks, often finding joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved watching movies, playing bingo, dancing, and was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan, especially fond of Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Above all, Eileen was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Breana Edwards, and her husband, Nicholas Barlotta; her adoring grandchildren, Delaney and Nolan; and many nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Smith, and her partner, William DeGroat.
Eileen’s family was the center of her world, and she took immense pride in being there for those she loved. Her warmth, strength, and spirited nature will be remembered always.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Eileen will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
