Mrs. Connors was my kindergarten teacher in the little red Cherry Lane school house also. While specific memories are vague, I do remember her as a very caring and nurturing person. My sincere condolences to her family.

Mrs. Connors was my kindergarten teacher when Cherry Lane school was a 3-room school house.  Mrs. Connors' class was downstairs.  My appreciation of education likely started then.   I am now a high school science teacher and believe that elementary teachers have the harder job, especially kindergarten and nursery school teachers.    I remember Mrs. Connors fondly and extend my deepest sympathy to Mary Elisabeth and Mark.

Elisabeth was our neighbor. She watched our home like a hawk, making sure only those she knew were on our property. One time, my Dad had come up to drop off some firewood while we were away, and she marched over demanding to know who he was and what he was doing :) What a blessing to have such a caring neighbor. We also enjoyed many Christmas parties at her home to help her decorate her tree, and she was one of the first to open her home to begin a neighborhood holiday party tradition. She loved going into NYC for plays, solving the Times crossword puzzle, and doing things with her teacher's group and Montebello seniors.

Aunt Elizabeth was the greatest.  She was kind, calm, and dignified.  A dedicated teacher of so many as well as a loving wife and mother -- who didn't know that her son and nephew were careening down Spook Rock Road at 40 mph on their bikes at the age of 12.  Somethings are better kept secret:-)

I was lucky to have Mrs. Connors for 5th grade at Airmont, split with Mr. Weaver. She was kind and loving, and I remember her speaking of her children often in class. She was so proud of them. I will fondly remember her always. Cliff Jones (San Antonio, Tx.) Class of '70

June 1959, Mrs. Connors presented me with an award from the Suffern Junior Women's Club and she was so nice.  I especially remember Jack Connors and the wonderful concerts and marching band.  We were so very lucky to have had these two wonderful teachers in our lives.  My deepest sympathy to their family.

I met Mrs. Connors when I transferred from Suffern Elem. to Airmont Elem. in January of 4th grade.  She was very kind, caring, and understanding.  Her son Mark was in my homeroom one year when I taught at SHS.  I telephoned her one Christmastime just a few years ago when she was still living in Suffern in order to tell her that every time the radio played  Leroy Anderson's Christmas Festival for band I always remembered Jack Connors and the holiday concerts at SHS. We reminisced about the victory parades downtown after every winning football game -- The Saints Go Marching In.  With very fond memories I send along my heartfelt sympathy to the family.

Mrs. Connors was my Third Grade teacher at Airmont Elementary, and made me feel welcome as a child who was new to the District. Her husband Jack started me taking French Horn lessons in 5th Grade, and I was in the band through Jr. and Sr. High School. The School District and its children were so fortunate to have devoted and skilled teachers like the Connors. My profound respect and regrets to their family.
