Our beloved Elizabeth Sylvain passed away on Tuesday November 21st 2017. With members of her family at her bedside, she said good bye in the comfort of her home. Elizabeth, lovingly nicknamed Zabeth by her family, was born in Haiti on July 8th, 1925 and immigrated to the US in the late 70’s.
Mother of six, but counselor to all, she will be very much missed. She was a devout Christian who accepted life’s circumstances with grace. She endured her forty years of diabetes with strength and was never afraid of death. As she always said with eloquence: “On ne meurt pas une minute avant son heure”.
She is survived by five children, sixteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren. She leaves behind two younger sisters, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home
Friday 12/1/17 5-9pm & Saturday 12/2/17 10AM.
