Ellen Anne Humphreys (83) of Suffern, NY died suddenly on May 14. Born in Brooklyn on Nov. 19, 1928 and raised in Bellerose, she was the daughter of Frederick and Clara Shaddock. Predeceased by her husband Richard in 2011, she is survived by daughter Kathleen Adam of Clifton Park, NY, daughter Nancy (husband Daniel) Zelem of Suffern and a son Brian Humphreys of Delmar, NY. She was predeceased by her son Ronald in 1998. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Ellen was a faithful communicant of Scared Heart Parish for thirty five years. She loved card games and participated in many bridge clubs during the course of her life. She had a passion for books and literature and enjoyed the companionship of animals. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 19 at 12:30PM at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern, followed by internment at F.W. Loescher Cemetery in New Hempstead, NY.
