

and Carmen. As a child she attended school at the Academy of Our Lady of the Blessed
Sacrament i n Goshen , New York. She had many f ond memories of t his t ime i n her l ife.
Later on Emelda attended college at NYU where she worked hard and proudly received
her nursing degree. It is also during this time that she met and married her husband
Walker aka John , to whom she was happily married for 60 years and went on to have 2
sons William and Stephen , whom she loved dearly.
She worked for many years in the medical field and truly loved helping others. Her
passion for helping others didn't stop there as another passion of hers ¨A love of Opera¨
led her to organize events through Childrens Bright Horizons, a non profit foundation
through Placido Domingo that was dedicated to improving the lives of terminally ill
children, by arranging for them to attend special performances. Then in her later years
she discovered Elvis, for which she spent many days and nights watching youtube
videos and singing along to all her favorites. She adored him and was a big fan.
Emelda is predeceased by her parents, husband Walker and son Stephen.
She is survived by her son William, daughter in law April, brother Raymond, sister in
law Nellie, and 6 grandchildren, Brittany, Valentinus, Jacqueline, Juliette, Arianna and
Stephen.
She will be deeply missed by her son William and all friends and family who knew and
loved her . A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who will be remembered as
a sweet and loving soul.
A funeral service is scheduled at 10:30 am Friday, October 29, 2021 , at Sacred Heart
