

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Evangeline Sangil on September 22, 2024, at the age of 74, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Manila, Philippines, on June 16, 1950, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Evangeline passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her husband, Virgilio Sangil; her children, Hazel Mongelli, Oliver Sangil, and Stephen Sangil; her daughter-in-law, Valerie Kerner; her son-in-law, Rocco Mongelli; and her cherished grandchildren, Lincoln, Aria, Logan, Eve, and Michael, with whom she loved spending time and creating lasting memories.
Evangeline is also survived by her sisters, Marina Roque and Magdalena Roque, and her brother, Serio Roque. She was predeceased by her beloved sister, Aida Arias, as well as her parents, Jesus and Encarnacion Roque.
Her life was characterized by unwavering love, faith, and a deep commitment to her family, leaving a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her kindness, her joyful spirit, and the special moments shared with her grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 900 Darlington Avenue, Mahwah, NJ 07430 at 10am on Saturday, September 28, 2024. Following the Mass, Inurnment will take place at Maryrest Cemetery and Mausoleum, 770 Darlington Avenue, Mahwah, NJ 07430at 11:15am.
