Florence Basile

Florence Basile of Airmont peacefully passed away on March 2nd,2012 at the age of 78.She was an avid parishioner of Sacred Heart Church with a passion for opera and classical music. Her enjoyment for cooking and baking comes second only to the love she had for her family. Florence is predeceased by her husband Nicholas A Basile. She is survived by her daughter Laura Basile, son Alex Basile and his wife Joanne, and daughter Joanne Shannon and her husband Thomas. “Floey” is also survived by her adoring grandchildren Annemarie Basile, Jessica Altro, Nicholas and Meghan Shannon. In addition she is also survived by her sisters Isabel De’Lorenzo, Lena Spano, Ann Marino, Patricia Munno and her brothers the late Matthew and Dominic Gallo. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 at Wanamaker and Carlough on Route 59 in Suffern. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10am at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern. Entombment will follow at the Cemetery of the Ascension in Airmont NY. In lieu of flowers the family requests to make donations to Sacred Heart Church, Franciscan Monasteries or a charity of choice.
