Francis P Ortega

Francis P. Ortega, a resident of Spring Valley, NY, passed away on July 9th, 2026. He was 78 years old. Francis was born on April 30th,1948 in Manila, Philippines to the late Francisco and Laureana (Perez) Ortega. Before his retirement, he worked for many years as an accountant for AIG in New York City, NY. A loving Father & Husband, Francis loved to sing his favorite Frank Sinatra & Journey songs, whilst playing the piano alongside. A confident Bowler, Chess, Tennis & Basketball player, Francis loved to work with his hands; building & creating things was a challenge he welcomed. Young at heart, Francis was the life of any party. Those who knew him understood he commanded the room’s attention.

He is survived by his children Mark Anthony Ortega, Maru Ortega, Matthew Francis Ortega and Christopher Dean Ortega. In addition, he is survived by his wife Belen Ortega.

He was predeceased by Marissa Balasta Ortega.

Visitation is scheduled for Friday, July 31st from 4-8pm at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, August 1st at 10 am at The Church of St. Joseph, 245 N Main St, Spring Valley, NY 10977. Interment to follow at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Rd, Airmont, NY 10952.
