I only recently learned of Frank's death.

I knew Frank for many years and always admired his dedication to the NYPD and his dry sense of humor.  He was my commanding officer in the 30th pct., and then we were captains together in PBMN.  He was a generous person who, I believe, was under-appreciated by some.  However, the people who really knew him held him in the highest esteem.

I worked with Frank Biehler in the 24th Precinct.  I found him to be a fair boss, always willing to listen, and I was touched in that years later, whenever I ran into him at various NYPD related social events, he always remembered my name.

I fondly remember Frank when he was the XO,PBBX and I was the 8th Division Commander.  His Biehler Grams were like fatherly advice pointing me in the right direction and sometimes admonishing me for a wrong turn. I'll miss his acerbic wit and wonderful sense of humor.  Rest in Peace.

To the Biehler Family:  No matter the age of our loved ones, their loss is a sting which we will always feel.  God has intended it to be this way due to the after-effects and consequence of Original Sin. But, don't you know, Our Father has set a day when we will all rise from the dead?  All who die in Jesus Christ will be resurrected from their tombs in their bodies after their souls re-enter them, and they will live in their new, Glorified Bodies forever.  Dry your tears, and pray for your Dad's soul for the rest of your days.  May God bless him, and our blessed Mother intercede for him before the Most High.

Frank Biehler was an intelligent, dedicated,and knowledgeable student of the Police profession.  He was very attentive and detailed in his handling of every police related situation and in his instructions to subordinates (Biehlergrams). I learned much from him.  May God Bless him and his family.

I never worked under Chief Biehler but had heard through others that had that he was a "Prince".  Which is a cop's way of saying a Boss was great to work for.  I did however meet him after retirement because of his  "Biehlergrams".  We found we had something in common, we both went to the Police Academy together, February 20, 1956. Every time a death of one of our classmates would occur he would highlite the fact that the retiree was from "Class# of 1956" I send my sympathy to his loved one's and pray that God gives them strength during this sad time.

Dear Biehler Family:  I can not begin to convey my own sense of loss and grief at Frank's passing.  He was my Sergeant back in the 4-6 and we'd stayed in touch all these many years. He was a man of great personal integrity and he will be missed by everyone who came into contact with him.  As a rookie cop I was grateful for his wisdom and guidance.  As a seasoned veteran I was proud to know him; enjoy his support and consider him a mentor and friend.

I worked with your wonderful husband, father and grandpa in Patrol Borough Bronx. He knew how to get the job done and still smile. A true leader, true gentleman and a heart of gold. May he rest in peace. My sincere condolences.

Chief Biehler was my C.O. in the 24 Pct. He was a man of dignity and intelligence. I admired the way he carried himself, going about the business of running a command. Later on as well when he was the C.O. of Narcotics Division. He was a mentor of mine and I borrowed much from his style of policing. A true gentleman and great cop. My condolences to his family.

Scott and family. My sincere condolences to your family. I worked for one of Chief Biehlers former NYPD Captains (Bill Connors) when I was with Rye NY PD. Commissioner Connors hooked me up to receive the "Biehlergrams" which I always enjoyed. Chief Biehler included me in one issue in 2007 when I was promoted at Rye PD. I worked for Chief Biehler in PMD from 1988 - 1992.  Besides being a wealth of knowledge he was a superb boss.

Dear Marie and family.  I succeeded Frank in the 30th Precinct and we became good friends while he worked in the 24th.  Before I retired he brought me into the Narcotics Division, for which I was most grateful. I will miss him but will not forget him in my prayers.  I didn't know until now that we were born about three weeks apart in Hamilton Heights.  He was a gentleman.  Please accept my condolences.

Dear Marie, Susan and Scott...I am so sorry to hear of Frank's death.  I have so many memories of Frank.  We first met in the 50th Pct in 1973 and I quickly learned we shared a mutual love of the job, it's traditions and it's history.  From then on our careers mirrored each other and our paths continued to cross for more than the next 20 years. The 46th, BxFIAU, OCCB, Narcotics, and more.  We both made Deputy Chief around the same time.  I considered Frank a true friend and kindred spirit.  After I retired, I looked forward to my Biehlergrams.
