

Frank Gobbo Jr. of Suffern and Averill Park, NY passed way at his home after a lengthy illness on Jan 10, 2014. He was born in Pennsylvania on November 19, 1928. In 1946 he served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked at H.O. Penn Machinery Company in the Bronx for 47 years. Frank lived most of his life in Suffern, and was an active member of his community, serving as a volunteer fireman with the Suffern Fire Dept. for fifty years. He also was a member of the American Legion and a volunteer at the Episcopal Church Soup Kitchen in Suffern.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Eileen (Farrell) Gobbo and son Peter Gobbo. He is survived by his son Ken Gobbo and wife Linda, Patricia (Gobbo) Wachtel and husband Peter, Janet (Gobbo) Anderson and husband Dan, daughter-in-law Debbie Gobbo and sister Helen Martini. He is also survived by 11 grand children, and 10 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to call at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59 in Suffern NY on January 22nd at 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Jan 23rd at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern, NY at 11 a.m. A reception to follow at the Suffern Fire Dept., Hook & Ladder. He will be laid to rest with his wife Eileen at the VA Cemetery in Saratoga Springs at a later date.
