Dr. Frank Raymond Navarra, a resident of Hillsdale, NJ, and formerly of Montvale, NJ, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025, at the age of 73. This date holds special significance as it is the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul, a sacred day in the Christian tradition honoring two of the Church’s most important apostles. For the family, knowing that Dad’s journey ended on this holy day brings deep comfort and peace, reflecting the strong faith that guided him throughout his life.
Adding to this sense of spiritual connection, Frank’s daughter, Chiara, shared a touching moment on the day of his passing when she saw a cardinal — a symbol often regarded as a messenger from heaven. It felt like a sign that Dad had come home, bringing reassurance and hope to all who loved him.
Born in the Bronx, NY, to the late Frank and Evelyn (Cerasuolo) Navarra, Frank was a deeply compassionate and intuitive healer. He dedicated his life to helping others as a chiropractor at the Holistic Health Center in Park Ridge, NJ. More than a skilled practitioner, Frank was known for his ability to listen, counsel, and truly care — always seeing the whole person beyond their pain. His patients treasured not only his clinical expertise but the kindness, patience, and hope he shared so freely. To many, Frank was more than a doctor; he was a trusted guide, a source of strength, and a true friend.
Frank’s passion for healing shaped his family as well. His dedication inspired his eldest daughter, Bianca, to become a Doctor of Physical Therapy, continuing his legacy of care. He proudly supported Bianca through her achievements, from competitive figure skating to earning her doctorate, always standing by her side with quiet pride.
Equally dear to Frank was his younger daughter, Chiara, whose talents in the performing arts and Broadway filled him with joy. He cherished taking her to auditions and shows in New York City, and treasured their long conversations about music, theater, and dreams — moments that remained among his most precious.
Above all, Frank was a devoted husband and father. His beloved grandson, Frank Michael O’Neill — named in his honor — carries forward not only his name but also the warmth and love that defined him.
Frank had a big heart for animals, especially dogs, and found comfort in their companionship. He loved music and dancing, and nothing delighted him more than cheering for his beloved New York Yankees — never missing a game. His quick wit and humor could light up any room, while his integrity, humility, and spiritual strength left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Even in illness, Frank faced each day with resilience, gratitude, and grace.
He is survived by his loving wife, Denise Marie Navarra; daughters Bianca Francesca O’Neill and Chiara Danielle Navarra; grandson Frank Michael O’Neill; son-in-law Ryan Matthew O’Neill; his sister, Dale Rafaniello, and her husband, Anthony Rafaniello, and their children; his sister, Diane Vicidomini, and her child; and his brother, Neal Navarra, and his wife, Elizabeth Navarra, and their children.
A memorial mass will be held Tuesday, July 8th at 1pm, at Presentation Church, 271 W Saddle River Road, Upper Saddle River, NJ 07458.
Frank cherished his mother’s devotion to St. Jude and found strength in that faith throughout his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Frank’s memory be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org), honoring a cause very close to his heart.
