Frederick Sahner

Frederick was born on January 30, 1935 to the late Frederick and Florence (Duncan) Sahner in Brooklyn, NY. He worked and retired from the Daily News as a Circulation Manager, having devoted over 40 years to that newspaper.

Fred was known for his gentle manner, quick wit, and kindness. He was an accomplished playwright.

Fred is survived by his loving wife, Mary Alice Keating-Sahner; beloved son David Sahner, MD and his wife Lisa; adoring daughter, Lynn A. Merring and her husband Kenneth; loving brother and lifelong buddy Ronald Sahner and his wife Brigid Casey-Sahner; his ex-wife Jeanette Sahner and brother-in-law Fr. Timothy F. Keating; his treasured grandchildren, Cole and Thea and devoted Westie, Florrie.

Funeral mass will begin at 9:30 am on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Holy Cross Chapel in Holy Cross Cemetery, 3620 Tilden Avenue, Brooklyn, New York. Burial will take place immediately following the mass. A memorial service is also planned for the future
