Fritz Barjon Sr.

Fritz Barjon Sr., age 82, formerly of Spring Valley and New City, NY, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Fritz emigrated to the United States at the age of 24. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ines Barjon (formerly Castin), who affectionately called him “Fito” or “To.” Fritz was known as a hard worker and held various positions throughout his life. After a long career as an accountant with Eastern Airlines, he became an entrepreneur in his mid-40s, continuing until his retirement at age 77. Fritz was renowned for his dedication, often working two or three jobs early in his career. He took pride in never missing a day of work and always sought opportunities to help others. As a provider, Fritz was committed to his family, consistently offering support to those in need, often without expecting anything in return. He instilled the importance of hard work and accountability in his children, teaching them valuable life lessons.

Those who knew Fritz admired him not only for his tireless work ethic but also for his love of music, dancing, playing cards, and fashion. He always stood out for his sharp appearance and gentlemanly demeanor. While he could not volunteer his time to charitable causes, Fritz was generous with financial support, whether for churches, organizations, friends, or even strangers. He consistently demonstrated kindness, generosity, and love. Beyond his professional dedication, Fritz cherished his family and friends, valuing family gatherings, holidays, graduations, and parties. He was a beloved friend to many, offering unconditional support wherever he could. In his earlier years, Fritz enjoyed traveling the world with his family, creating lasting memories. He was recognized for his big heart, strength, and resilience in facing difficult times. Friends and family will remember his handsome smile, quiet strength, and gracious nature. Fritz will be deeply missed.

Fritz is survived by his children, Fritz Barjon, Jr. and Rachelle Barjon Martin; daughter-in-law, Nikki Barjon; son-in-law, Kenneth Martin, Jr.; and grandchildren, Sasha Barjon, Christian Barjon, Noah Martin, Iain Martin, and Adam Martin.

A visitation for Fritz will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, located at 177 Route 59, Suffern, New York 10901. The funeral service will follow directly after at the same location. Burial will take place immediately following the service on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Rd., Airmont, New York 10952.
