Gaetano Dominic Lombardo

Gaetano was born in Acquedolci, Sicily on November 28, 1949 to Giuseppe Lombardo and Benedetta Bruno. He graduated from Iona College in 1972 with a degree in Liberal Arts and from Seton Hall University in 1974 with a Master’s degree in Sociology and worked as Social Worker for the State at Letchworth village in Rockland County. Guy loved spending time with his family and was devoted to his work assisting the handicapped. He enjoyed watching sports, He was an avid N.Y. Yankees fan, and was an exceptional billiard player. He also enjoyed setting off fireworks every 4th of July. Unfortunately, Guy was afflicted from birth with Cerebral Palsy but did not allow it to control who he was or what he wanted to accomplish. He never complained about his condition, he always remained positive and never spoke badly about anyone. Gaetano will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all the residents and staff of Friedwald Center where he spent the last ten years of his life.

Gaetano is survived by his brother’s Cirino and wife Linda, Pete and wife Cathy, and sister, Betty and husband Joe; nephews, Anthony and Joey; niece, Cirina; and goddaughter, Nicole, Lauren and Jennifer.
