Gerald Jerry Nugent

Jerry was born in Binghamton, New York on December 6, 1937 to John and Mary Nugent. He graduated from the State University at Oneonta and received his master’s degree from The University of Rochester. Most of Jerry’s 40-year career was spent in the East Ramapo School District as a special education teacher. He spent much his retirement enjoying his grandchildren and traveling.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 45 years Mary Anne, son Michael, daughter Sara, daughter-in-law Jennifer and beloved grandchildren John, James and Mary.

In addition he is survived by brothers Dean of San Diego and William of Phoenix and their families, and nieces and nephews throughout the country.

A wake will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral home in Suffern, NY on Thursday, July 21 from 7-9pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Church of the Presentation in Upper Saddle River, NJ on Friday, July 22 at 10am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jerry’s memory to Camp Venture, 25 Smith Street, Nanuet NY 10954 serving the developmentally disabled of Rockland County.
