Major Harry Dwier was born on September 20, 1963, to Daniel Dwier and Dorothy Sorbicki. Harry was the youngest of five brothers. He grew up in a small town in Kresson, NJ. Although he was raised in a Protestant home, his conversion came in his adulthood. After many years of personal struggles, in March of 2000 in a Salvation Army facility, he experienced an awakening that led him to accepting Jesus as his true Lord and Savior. From then on, his life changed dramatically.
Major Dwier was employed as the Resident Supervisor at the Philadelphia Roxborough Adult Rehabilitation Center and there found an opportunity to give back to the Lord through sharing the love and grace that he had so graciously received. It was at the Millennial Congress of June 2000 in Atlanta, Georgia that he received clear direction from God for his life - his call to Officership.
Major Harry entered the School For Officer Training in August of 2001 as a member of the Believers session. It was at Training School that Harry met Madelaine Cornielle who would become his fiancé. They were commissioned in July of 2003 and took on separate appointments until they married on January 03, 2004. The Dwiers had two beautiful children together, Nathan (14) and Eden (12). Together they served the Lord wholeheartedly for 17 years.
Harry was energetic and outspoken; he was never afraid to speak his mind. He loved playing percussion and guitar, 80s music, watching the Eagles/Browns games and of course, Fox News. But more than anything, Harry loved spending time with his family. He was a generous, loving father. Harry's strength and determination were put to the test when he suffered a catastrophic brain hemorrhage in 2012. During his difficult recovery and the years that followed, it was common to hear Harry whispering to himself "all things," referring to Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Major Harry Dwier was Promoted to Glory on Sunday, May 30, 2021. Major is resting peacefully in the arms of His Lord and Savior, whole and free from illness, rejoicing in his eternal dwelling place.
