

Harry Marsden, Jr. of Cleverdale, NY and Tamarac, FL, formerly of Spring Valley, NY entered into his final resting place after a courageous battle with cancer on August 24th, 2011. He was 83 years old. The son of the late Harry and Dorothy Marsden of Suffern, he was born in Northbridge, MA in 1928. Harry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Doris. His three children, Lynn D'Onofrio and her husband Rocco of Stony Point, NY, Harry J. Marsden and his wife Christine of Stuart, FL and Robert Marsden and his wife Diane of Monroe, NY. He also had two granddaughters that he loved very much, Mallory and Robyn Marsden. He was predeceased by a sister Dorothy and a brother George. Harry worked for Orange and Rockland Utilities for 37 years as Electric Operations Superintendant. He served in the US Navy during WWII and was a member of the US Naval Reserve, retiring after 24 years of service. In addition, he served in the US Army Reserve and retired after 10 years of service. He volunteered for the Hillcrest Fire Department and North Queensbury Rescue Squad and a volunteer for the Broward County Sheriff's Dept. Citizens on Patrol. He is a lifetime member of the Masonic Ramapo Lodge No. 589 in Suffern. Harry was an avid hunter and enjoyed boating with his family on Lake George. He built his own home by hand, the place he loved and stayed most of his time with his wife by his side. He enjoyed turning others people's junk into treasures and repairing it like new. Whether it was carpentry or welding, he was a true and accomplished craftsman in every sense of the word. However, most importantly, Harry loved his family. He was a proud man whose goal in life was to protect and care for those around him. Harry shared his life by giving to others. He will be missed dearly by his family.
