

Helen Penksa of Monsey passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 77 years old. Helen was born on April 10, 1935 in Simpson Pennsylvania to the late John and Katherine Sekunda.
Helen is predeceased by one brother, Edward Sekunda, and one sister, Julie Perry. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Albert and children Karen Francone and her husband, Charles, of Sanger, CA; Janet Penksa of Buffalo, NY; Allan Penksa and his wife, Carolyn, of Gainesville, FLA; Nancy Frisone and her husband, Albert, of Milwaukee, WI; Robert Penksa and his wife, Christine, of Park Ridge, NJ; 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and brother, Peter. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and beloved friends from the Staub Family.
Helen was an avid bowler and enjoyed the quiet comforts of her home. She appreciated the simple things in life like the daily visits of wildlife to her bird feeder. Her first and enduring loves were her husband and raising her “babies.”
Family and friends may visit Thursday 4 to 8pm at the Wannamaker and Carlough Funeral Home. Helen’s Mass of Catholic Burial will be Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary with burial to follow at Ascension Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
