Janet Grace Straut

Janet Grace Straut passed peacefully on the morning of September 24, 2023. Janet was born on September 3, 1936, in Airmont, NY to the late Lillian and Cornelius Straut. She was a life-long resident of Airmont and a member of the Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Before retiring, she was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Monsey, NY and Avon Products in both Suffern and Rye, NY.

Nothing was more important to Janet than her family. She is survived by her brother, Donald Straut of Airmont, NY along with her sister, Linda and her husband Herb Pechfelder of Ramsey, NJ. She is also survived by 5 nieces and nephews: Donald Straut and his wife Kristie, Kenneth Straut and his wife Jacqueline, James Straut and his wife Marybeth, Susan DeGraw and her husband Matthew, and Laura Pechfelder. She is also survived by 9 great nieces and nephews, and 4 great great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 from 10am to 12pm at the WANAMAKER & CARLOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. Funeral Services will be held at 12pm also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Airmont Coptic Orthodox Cemetery in Airmont, NY.
