OBITUARY
Jared Calvin Lloyd
September 25, 1985 – March 23, 2021
Jared Calvin Lloyd was born on September 25, 1985 to his parents, Sabrail (Lloyd) Davenport and Calvin Lloyd. Jared attended public and catholic school in Queens, NY during his elementary years. In 2000, he and his mom moved to Spring Valley, NY. He attended Chestnut Ridge Middle School and graduated from Spring Valley High School in 2004. Jared then attended SUNY, Morrisville and Rockland Community College. In 2008, he began his employment at Altice (formerly Optimum Cable). Jared’s sweet, kind and loving spirit led him to volunteer his services to the Columbian Fire Engine Company #1 in 2006. During his time at the Firehouse, he held different positions: 2nd Lieutenant and Treasurer were the ones he enjoyed the most. Jared loved sports. He was the President of the softball league and played on the bowling and football teams. He was a die-hard fan of the NY Mets and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. If you knew Jared, you wouldn’t dare say anything bad about either of these two team, especially the Bucs when they won the Super Bowl this year. Jared enjoyed traveling with his Mom and his CFEC family. Most of all Jared loved spending quality time with his sons, Logan and Darius. Jared leaves to his cherished memories and well rounded personality; his parents, Sabrail Davenport and Calvin Lloyd; Stepfather, Rick Davenport; two sons, Logan Joseph (mother Rebecca) and Darius James (mother Raina); longtime companion, Raina Fader; Grandmother, Maude Askin; one uncle, Rodney Askins; two aunts, Marcia B. Lloyd and Selma Askin; Godmother, Aliyah Bennett; Godfather, Carl Jager and a host of cousins and valued friends.

Jared was a lovely young man whom I had the pleasure of teaching at Spring Valley HS. I remember him as always kind and polite and shy. His mother was lovely and her love and care were evident in Jared’s personality. My sincere condolences to all of his family and friends.

My heart goes out to Sabrail and Calvin and their Lloyd and Askin family.
I first met Sabrail in 1981 when we both worked at NY Telephone Co at 375 Pearl St, as order typists. I never met Jared but as soon as I heard the news I had this feeling that it was your son.
May it give you comfort that Jared died a HERO. Heaven has gained an angel. I am sorry we didn’t keep in touch.
God Bless you and I will keep you in my prayers.🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿❤️❤️❤️

My heart is broken. I met Jared when I worked with his Mom Sabrail at New York Telephone company in 1986. We became friends. He was a kind and loving young man. Soft spoken. He made his mom and Dad proud. He will be missed. Jared was brave and will always be a hero in my book. SIP Hero.
