Jeanmary Cham of Nanuet, NY passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at the age of 74. He was born to Andre and Elise Cham on May 2, 1944 in Port au Prince, Haiti. After his mother's passing, when he was young, Jeanmary was raised and cared for by his step-mother Phranelie Cham. Jeanmary migrated to New York from Haiti in 1970. He began working as an engineer for Avon in Suffern, NY in 1971. He retired from Avon with over 30 years of employment. After retirement, Jeanmary opened Caribbean Village Restaurant, in Spring Valley, where he hosted many cultural events and performances for the community. Jeanmary was a Mason and a member of St. Joseph's Church in Spring Valley. He was active in his community, willing to help and participate with his generous spirit.
Jeanmary is survived by his beloved wife Anne-Marie Cham, his son Bruno Cham and his wife Peggy, his daughter Fannie, and by his granddaughters Candice and Aliyah. He was the brother to Gerard, Serge (Susan), Andre (Diane), Weber (Anna), Lionel (Marie Lourdes), Marie A. (Leslie), Marie C., Huguette (Emmanuelle), Marlene (Nesly), Solange (Jocelyn), Peter, Guy (Frantzie), and Marie Carmel, Uncle to Nadege, Dominique, Deborah, Sonia, Elisa, Patricia, Melina, Jean Francois, Marie, Pierre, Melissa, Katiana, Jonathan, Sabrina, David, Jehane, Elizabeth, Chris, Brian, Dimitry, Charles, Isabelle, Tahisha, Amber, Victoria, Angelo, Kerri-Ann, Brent, Maliq, Mason, Maya, and Lionel Osse, and the nephew to Anassa Fleuranvil.
