Jo Ann Jean Cucinello

We celebrate the life of Jo Ann Cucinello. Jo Ann overcame all the obstacles life presented and cherished the joys that were available to her, her mother and father, Sylvia and John, her nieces and nephews, Nicholas and Amanda, Giorgia, Linda and Mike, Erin and Justin, and Mike, her great nephews and nieces, Nicholas, Delaney, Charlie, Thomas and Sienna, her brothers and sister, John, Jim and Angela, and Laura and Greg, cousins and friends and family. How deeply she appreciated those that did not mind who she was; those that offerred her the sanctuary of fellowship and unconditional love. She returned those blessings with a most grateful and humble heart. Joann never let the meanness of life and exclusions that she endured to defeat her. It only made her cherish with all of her might those joys available to her. We want to thank all of those that extended to Joann those life lines of love for including Jo in your lives. We want to thank the people at Rockland Community College where Jo worked for 37 years for the validation and the dignity that comes with a working career and a life well lived..And most importantly, we want to thank all of the people that cared for Jo with incredible dignity during these last years of failing health.Lauren and Amanda, she loved you as do we. Joann was sent to teach us.. She was a master teacher. From her we learned humility. All you had to do was sit and talk with her for just moments and you were humbled. Bless you, Sis, and thank you for your incredible generosity. We miss you. We will see you again, of that we are sure.

Visitation will be held at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY 10901, US, on April 15, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday March 16, 2026 at 10 a.m. at Church of The Presentation 271 W. Saddle River Rd. Upper Saddle River, NJ 07458

A Committal Service will take place at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Rd, Airmont, NY 10952, US, on April 16, 2026, from 11:30 am to 11:45 am.
