John Conjura of Barefoot Bay, FL passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the age of 88. John was born to Martin and Louise (Schmidt) Conjura on June 19, 1930 in Suffern, NY. John was a police officer for 25 years with the Spring Valley Police Department. He was a life member of SV PBA. He was also a 70 yr life member of the Columbian Fire Engine Company #1 of Spring Valley. John was an Army veteran who proudly served during the Korean War and was a member of the Fred Eller American Legion.
John is survived by his beloved children John L. Conjura, Sr. (Eileen) and MaryJane Steers (John), adored grandchildren Kristin, Keri, John, Melissa, Patricia, John L. Jr, and Kenneth, 11 cherished great grandchildren, and by brother Edmund Conjura (Ingrid). John was predeceased by his beloved wife Janet Conjura in 2011, by his brothers Martin Conjura, Patrick Conjura, Bud Conjura and William Conjura and by his sisters Evelyn Luscher, Helen Krainak and Caryl Garulli.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm, with Firematic Services at 8pm, at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Route 59, Suffern, NY. A Funeral Service will be celebrated 9:30am on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home with procession to Fred W. Loescher Veteran’s Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY for burial.
