Josefa Austria Villegas

Josie was born to Inocencio and Catalina (Soriano) Austria on March 17, 1932 in the Philippines.

Josie married the love of her life Hipolito Villegas July 12, 1951. They were married for 62 years before his passing in April 2014. Josie loved dancing, cooking and shopping. A seamstress by trade, Josie loved to sew clothing for her grandchildren.

Josefa is survived by her beloved children Thelma Garcia, Hipolito Villegas Jr. (Ella), Roger Villegas (Jasmine), and Edwin “Eddie” Villegas (Angel). She is also survived by her grandchildren Rochelle Garcia, Katherine Garcia, Kristine Angela Villegas, Mikhael Paulo Villegas, Roger Villegas Jr., and Raymond Villegas and by great grandchildren Riley Quinn, Hannah Rose, and Ernest James.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 3-7PM at Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30AM on Monday, September 13th at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet, NY with entombment to follow at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City, NJ.
