Joubert Cantave

away at the age of 86 at Nyack Hospital. Mr.Cantave was born December 31, 1933 in Haiti, WI, to

Louisane Francois and Edouard Cantave. He was a longtime employee of the state of New York, working at Letchworth Village for over 20 years. He enjoyed baseball and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He enjoyed all forms of music from Frank Sinatra to Tabou Combo. Mr. Cantave was a 32nd Degree Freemason. His other interests were cooking, movies and maintaining his Oldsmobile 88. Mr. Cantave enjoyed spending time with his family and was infinitely proud of his three boys. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Yvette Cantave; and his two sons Jeffrey Cantave; of Spring Valley NY and Jason Cantave; of Spring Valley NY. Brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who loved him. He was preceded in death by his oldest son and namesake Joubert Cantave Jr., his father Edouard Cantave and mother Louisane Francois. He was loved by many and will be missed greatly. A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 2, 10:30 AM at St. Joseph’s Church, Spring Valley NY. Entombment will follow at Ascension Cemetery: 650 Saddle River Rd., Airmont, NY 10952.
