Kevin was proud of his growing accomplishments in the literary world. In middle school, Kevin participated in a creative writing contest, winning a unique and memorable trip throughout the Pacific Northwest. He had the chance to visit amazing places such as the Grand Canyon, the Las Vegas Strip, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. He spent a weekend at UCLA and even surfed in San Diego. His academic excellence was evident through impressive achievements, including acing his Regents exams and receiving an award for academic excellence from the New York State Office of the State Comptroller. He was also a regular on the Dean’s List and was honored with several lunches with the school superintendent in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements. In addition to his academic accomplishments, Kevin was a passionate orator, known for his eloquence and ability to speak with conviction. He had an innate talent for connecting with people, and his compassion and empathy were evident in everything he did. Kevin was the kind of friend who stood up for others—fiercely loyal and always ready to lend a hand. An old soul, he was empathetic and giving, often putting others before himself and constantly seeking ways to help those in need.
Kevin was a once-in-a-generation son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. To those who truly knew him, he had an unmatched ability to lighten the room if tensions were high, always staying true to himself no matter who was around. He knew how to make you smile, even when you didn’t think it was possible. His creative ambition—from writing a novel to creating his own clothing line—reflected the kind of person he was. Although Kevin’s time with us was far too short, his impact on the lives of those around him will be felt for years to come. He was a true light in this world, and his memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was, and will forever be, a bright light in the lives of all who knew him.
