Leonard Lantz (Lenny) of The Bronx, NY passed away on June 27, 2022 at the age of 95 (years young). He was born on June 27, 1927 in The Bronx where he grew up and he married his sweetheart of 76 years.
He worked as a Railroad Locomotive Engineer for 38 years and enjoyed every day of it. Lenny was a phenomenal baker, a lover of automobiles and an avid coin collector. However, first and foremost, Lenny was an outstanding husband and tremendously loving father, grandfather. Lenny’s joy went beyond the typical definition of “family”, for he had priceless neighbors who were not just friends, but an extension of his family circle. If you knew him, you “loved” him!
He was actively involved in in the Roman Catholic Church and was an usher for his local parish.
He is preceded in death by his parents Elisabeth & Gustave Lantz.
He is survived by his wife, RoseMarie, daughters Susan & Linda and sons Daniel, Leonard & Richard.
Family and friends are invited to attend viewing on Friday, July 1, 2022 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Wanamaker & Carlough Funeral Home, 177 Rt. 59, Suffern, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, July 2nd at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern, NY.
Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, 650 Saddle River Road, Airmont, NY.
